Out and about Walking in Oxenton

For today's walk we are in the village of Oxenton which is located just a few miles outside of Cheltenham and 11 miles north east of Gloucester. However the village is under the district of Tewkesbury. The 2011 census recorded a population of 162. Nearby to the village is Oxenton Hill. The village has its own village hall and parish church named St John the Baptist. Four years before the second world the Woolstone parish was abolished and merged with Oxenton.

Oxenton is a lovely village with a strong community spirit. During my brief visit I met a couple of residents from the village who both were friendly & welcoming, a real pleasure to chat to. I hope to go back in the near future to explore more of the nearby & surrounding countryside and of course I shall take you with me :)
