It's time to rip the plaster off.
It's been a year since the last instalment of this topic and it's proved something of a benefit over the years: it has either uncovered interesting gems, or it's assured us that the reasons we ignore certain brands are somewhat warranted.
To be clear, these aren't 'hidden gems' or 'under-the-radar' distilleries, these are brands who have released their own core range of malt whiskies. Yet, for whatever reason, our community seems to largely ignore them. Certainly, it would seem that I do.
There have been a couple that I just haven't been looking forward to. Gradually, over the last five years of this series, I've chipped away at them. In this Episode 7, along with a few others, I'll tackle the King of The Ignored. You know what it is.
It's a legitimate distillery making great malt - we're told - and a global brand. Why do we ignore it so? Well, let's dive in and see.
