In this second episode of our Laguna Food Crawl series, Erwan Heussaff returns to Paete, a town that has been part of his family’s story for generations.
What begins as a search for local food becomes something more personal. From reconnecting with distant relatives and exploring ancestral ties to visiting long-standing eateries, artisan workshops, and family-run businesses, Erwan discovers how deeply food, memory, and community are intertwined. Along the way we also discovered the works of some of the best wood carvers in the country before ending our trip with a plate of Laguna’s rare bibingkang hipon.
