Improvement is at 0:19. That makes it the second last unskippable Dreamstone in the entire game to be avoided ! (Last one is at the beginning of 3-1… I’ll return to its case in a future video). It has almost been two years since the last 0% progress update.
I originally though I’d have needed TAS for this, due to having to clip to the right while in mid-air. And even then, Lephise’s sculpture was reluctant to letting any wall-clip input happen (its walls seemed very inconsistent). Well, granted, I hadn’t spent much effort on the task.
But now this doesn’t matter. With the realization of alternative, easier input methods of wall-clipping to the right, as well as some more thought out positioning, this didn’t take long at all.
One of the main component was to double-jump at the moment of the w-c input where we look to the left. Due to the positioning, we would be able to clip through the wall with only one input, and double-jumping would allow getting high up while avoiding bonking on the ceiling (in this instance at least. Is different depending on the wall-ceiling).
The rest of the tricks will be explained more in the aforementionned video. Just know that you can wall-clip to the right by pressing either up or down at the first frame, and then left immediately after (instead of right for the first frame). Take note however that that input method is only possible if you’re already inside the wall.
