In this retrotech / vintage tech / fixit video we're having a look at a vintage Makinon 24mm f2.8 screw fit lens. I bought this lens relatively recently and on a casual glance it looked clean but when I first used it, there was a nasty milky haze to the shots. looking a bit closer, at least one of the inner elements was hazy and in need of cleaning, so that's what we'll do in this video.
There's plenty that can go wrong when taking lenses apart so I wouldn't recommend doing it to your favourite lens unless you're fairly sure of what you're taking on. I've serviced and repaired a number of lenses but I'm still finding new complications as I do lenses from different manufacturers.
In the video you'll see the method I used and then we'll do a few test shots at the end of the video.
