In this Retro Tech / Vintage Tech / Retro Future Tech video we'll take a look at the Apocalypse Generator model APOC 01.

I made the Apocalypse Generator for a friend - originally it was just going to be a table lamp, with the meter, panel lamps and a few switches, but as the project developed, it seemed a shame not to have a few more features. So an Arduino Uno was installed, complete with MP3 player module for the sound effects, along with a 4 digit LED display and many more switches.

The styling was intended to look like old industrial equipment and maybe a bit like stuff you'd find in a disused nuclear bunker.

The panel lamps are compression stop end fittings available in any plumbing suppliers - the end has a section ground out so the light escapes out of the bottom, and there's an LED G4 bulb stuffed inside each.
