This is a quick look at a bit of Retro Tech - a vintage Canon "Repeat-Corder L" tape recorder with loop function. The Repeat-Corder was intended for teaching/learning things like foreign languages using training tapes such as those supplied by Linguaphone . The Repeat-Corder used a standard compact cassette but also had a second "repeat" cassette that was an endless loop - at the touch of a button, the master cassette would stop and the repeat cassette would play the last section over and over again.

In the video we'll look at the machine and it's controls and also look inside the unit. The cassette drive belt had stretched and was slipping when trying to rewind the tape so you'll see how I repaired that during the video.
