Games that are or about to be extinct
Starting off we have Super Mario Bros 35, a 35-player battle royale for the Switch based on the original 1985 platformer celebrating Mario’s 35 anniversary. Though Nintendo removed it and shut down the servers on March 31st, 2021 after a limited six-month run.
Up next is Transformers Tactical Arena, a real-time strategy PvP that launched on Apple Arcade in 2021 before moving to mobile app stores. Its servers are scheduled to permanently shut down on November 9, 2026.
From one mobile casualty to another, we have The Simpsons: Tapped Out. This massively popular city-builder spent over a decade as a staple of mobile app stores from 2012-2025 when EA delisted the game and permanently took down the servers, making the title inaccessible.
Next up we have P.T. short for Playable Teaser, which was Konami’s interactive teaser for the canceled Silent Hills game. As such, the demo was pulled entirely from the PlayStation store in 2015, blocking even redownloads for anyone who deleted it. They really want you to forget about this one.
And finally we have Overwatch 1, which was simply replaced by Overwatch 2 in 2022. This caused Overwatch 1 to completely shut down, get fully delisted and rendered as a dead game. Gone but not forgotten.
