Venus Near the Crescent Moon, (No Mega-Zooming Tonight)

Tonight we have the 13% Crescent Moon near Venus. No zooming this evening with the mega-lens but a fast forward of 70 minutes down to less than 2 minutes so we can see their movement.

$My 1st Telescope - Celestron Nexstar 127 SLT 5 Mak-Cass Telescope (Quite Unhappy with the Quality) Update: The Celestrone 127 SLT was sent back due to quality concerns, but eventually got the William Optics GT71 triplet refractor telescope instead. Hallow’s Eve night of frustration rings in my very first telescope, the Celestron Nexstar 127 SLT, 5”, Mak-Cass telescope. An hours worth of nothingness to show but me being agitated as my cheap dot sight finder scopes, which were aligned on distant targets in the daytime, couldn’t get near the planets, even in prime focus with no secondary optics used and with using the diagonal and the wide field of view 25mm eyepiece. Besides the aggravating waste of an hour, I’m not very happy with the quality of this telescope bundle which has a very lightweight cheap tripod, and only having an 8 pound load capacity for the mount (when the telescope tube itself is already around 8 pounds without accessories attached). The icing on the cake for me is the quality of the optics. Im not sure if something was damaged in shipping but one of the inside boxes was crushed when I received it. During the daytime when filming distant objects, the clarity wasnt very good compared to my telephoto lenses, so maybe something got messed up during production or shipping. Anyway!
