Disclaimer : I am in no way a professional “van converter guy!” These videos share my experience during my conversion, highlighting the things that went well and….not so well.
Fitting a “dining room” into a van along with a bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, and “living room” can be tough. We had to be somewhat creative with where we would put it, so we decided to utilize the cab of the van.
We installed swivel adapters on both seats, built a dining table out of used skateboards, and fabricated a custom mounting bracket for the table to mount to.
Supplies and Tools
I didn’t purchase too many materials for this portion of the build. The swivel seat base adapters were the biggest expense and I purchased them both from vanupgrades.com. I would suggest ordering them a few weeks before you plan on installing them because they can sometimes be on backorder.

The dining table itself was made out of used skateboards that I had collected as well as several old boards from a local skate shop. Guy from GuysWoodshop was the gentlemen who helped put the table together. You can find his channel at:

To mount the dining table to the van my dad fabricated a custom bracket which he claims he will make for people if they ask, so if you’re interested just leave a comment or shoot me a message through instagram. I should have an email made for inquiries soon!
Overall this portion of the build was fairly easy. You can save a lot of time if you go with a standard small dining table rather than making a custom one out of skateboards. There are other ways to mount a dining table in the cab area as well that might require less work, but I’m happy with what we came up with.
