A true prophet of God points people back to the Word of God, calls people to repentance, exalts Christ, and speaks truth. A scammer uses religious language to pressure people out of their money. When someone claims to be operating prophetically but constantly connects breakthrough, favor, deliverance, healing, or promotion to a specific dollar amount, Christians should stop and test that by Scripture.
Where did Jesus tell people to give $1,000 for a blessing?
Where did the apostles instruct the church to sow a thousand-dollar seed in order to receive a miracle?
Where in the New Testament do we see prophecy being used as a fundraising technique?
We do not.
Biblical giving is real, but biblical giving is not coercion. It is not pressure. It is not manipulation. It is not “give this amount or miss your breakthrough.” The Bible says God loves a cheerful giver, not a pressured giver, not a frightened giver, and not someone being emotionally cornered by a preacher with a microphone.
Valerie Moore’s $1,000 seed appeal is another example of how the prosperity gospel turns Christianity into a transaction. Instead of pointing people to Christ, repentance, faith, holiness, and sound doctrine, these ministries point people to a cash amount. They make people believe their next level is locked behind a payment.
That is not the gospel.
The gospel is the good news that Jesus Christ died for sinners, rose from the dead, and saves all who repent and believe. It is not a system where you buy favor from God. It is not a spiritual slot machine. It is not a seed-faith lottery where the biggest giver gets the biggest miracle.
This kind of teaching hurts people. It targets the desperate, the broken, the sick, the financially struggling, and the spiritually vulnerable. People come looking for hope, and instead they are told to empty their pockets in the name of prophecy.
That should make every Christian angry.

The Bible repeatedly warns about greedy religious leaders. False teachers do not always look obvious. Many of them use church language. They talk about anointing, breakthrough, destiny, favor, mantles, and miracles. But underneath all the religious vocabulary is the same message: give them money.
That is why discernment matters.
A real prophet does not need to sell blessings. A real minister does not need to manipulate people with $1,000 seeds. A real servant of God does not treat the people of God like customers.
Valerie Moore is not demonstrating biblical prophecy when she pressures people for a thousand-dollar seed. She is showing the same prosperity gospel playbook that has deceived people for decades.
