One of the tools I get asked about most often is the car dent puller. They're an incredibly useful way to dip pieces in glaze, especially if you don't have a huge container of glaze.

They do have limitations and won't work for everyone, but if they make sense for your glazing situation then they're irreplaceable.

There's a full guide to using them on my blog. If you've tried one and it kept dropping pieces, then there's a few suggestions to solve that. But essentially it's either an issue with the dent puller (then it won't stick to any surface) or the process you're using (the dent puller will stick to other flat surfaces, but not your pieces).
