STORYLINE: Nevyn dies in the Last Battle and is re-born as Neb, a Deverrian boy who is hired as a scribe for one of the Lords. When the Lord hosts a wedding feast the castle is visited by their long-time allies, the Valinorians, with their Queen Sandra Roberts. Neb feels that he has met Sandra before but he does not know where and how as she's a Queen and he's a simple, poor boy, but he starts to remember things about her and realizes that he must have met her in another life.
Meanwhile Sandra has been missing Nevyn's advice and company ever since his death and instantly realizes who Neb is when she meets him, but the laws forbid her to tell him about his past life. Thus she befriends him as if they had never met before.
Not long after Sandra's return to Valinor, Neb's new home is attacked by the Horsekin and they send a messenger to Valinor to ask for help. Sandra returns and finds that Neb has started to master his magic and that he also remembers his past life. Together they help defeat the Horsekin and remain close friends, as they were always meant to be.
