🚙 Drive America’s Highways for 61 miles north along U.S. Route 67 from Poplar Bluff to Fredericktown, Missouri — through the forested hills and rural communities of the eastern Ozarks.

Travel north on U.S. Route 67 from U.S. Route 60 in Poplar Bluff to Missouri Route 72 in Fredericktown on a scenic drive through the changing landscape of southeastern Missouri. Beginning along the northwestern side of Poplar Bluff, the video follows the divided US 67 corridor away from one of the region’s principal commercial centers and into the wooded countryside of the eastern Ozarks. Poplar Bluff stands near the geographic transition between the lowlands of the Mississippi Embayment and the higher, more rugged terrain to the north, making the change in scenery one of the defining features of this drive.

Leaving the Poplar Bluff area, U.S. Route 67 continues north through Butler County, where commercial development gradually gives way to forest, open fields, rural crossroads, and widely spaced homes. The highway provides an important regional connection between communities in southeastern Missouri and the larger population centers farther north. Long stretches of divided highway allow the route to maintain a steady pace while still offering a clear view of the surrounding hills and valleys.

The drive continues into Wayne County, passing near the communities of Silva and Greenville. Although modern US 67 bypasses the center of Greenville, the community remains an important crossroads for travelers heading toward nearby recreation areas and the upper reaches of Wappapello Lake. North of Greenville, the terrain becomes increasingly rolling and heavily wooded, reflecting the character of the eastern Ozark foothills. Road cuts, forested ridges, and occasional openings across the countryside give this portion of the route a noticeably different appearance from the flatter landscape south of Poplar Bluff.

Approaching Madison County, U.S. Route 67 passes the Cherokee Pass area before continuing toward Fredericktown. Both Greenville and Cherokee Pass are served by newer divided-highway bypasses, keeping through traffic moving while preserving access to the older communities nearby.

The video concludes at the interchange with Missouri Route 72 on the northern side of Fredericktown. From here, Route 72 provides connections east toward Jackson and west toward the Arcadia Valley, while US 67 continues north toward Farmington and the communities of Missouri’s Lead Belt. This approximately 65-mile drive captures an important southeastern Missouri corridor as it climbs from the edge of the Mississippi lowlands into the forested hills of the Ozarks.
