Travel east on Interstate 70 from the Clear Creek Welcome Center near Terre Haute to Harding Street in Indianapolis on this 77-mile real-time drive across western and central Indiana. The video begins at the eastbound welcome center near the Illinois state line, providing a natural starting point for the journey into the Hoosier State. Reopened in November 2025, the redesigned welcome center highlights Indiana’s connection to automobile racing and introduces travelers to the state before they continue east toward Terre Haute and Indianapolis.
After leaving the welcome center, Interstate 70 passes along the southern side of Terre Haute and through the primary highway corridor serving the Wabash Valley. Connections with U.S. Route 41, State Road 641, and State Road 46 provide access to Terre Haute, surrounding communities, and destinations throughout western Indiana. State Road 641 forms a bypass between U.S. 41 and the I-70 corridor, helping move regional traffic around the more developed portions of Terre Haute. Beyond the city, the landscape quickly opens into a broad mixture of farmland, wooded areas, scattered homes, and small rural communities.
Continuing east, I-70 crosses the rolling countryside of west-central Indiana while passing near Brazil, Cloverdale, and numerous smaller towns. Interchanges connect the interstate with U.S. Route 231, State Road 59, State Road 243, and other highways serving communities away from the main corridor. Much of this section offers the familiar character of a Midwestern interstate drive, with long stretches of open terrain interrupted by wooded creek valleys, agricultural fields, roadside services, and occasional clusters of development near major exits.
The surroundings become increasingly developed as the highway approaches the Indianapolis metropolitan area. I-70 passes through the Plainfield area and crosses several important suburban routes, including State Road 267 and Ronald Reagan Parkway. Warehouses, distribution centers, hotels, and commercial development become more prominent along this busy western approach to Indianapolis. The route also provides access to Indianapolis International Airport before entering the city’s industrial and residential southwestern districts.
The video concludes at the Harding Street interchange, just west of central Indianapolis. From this point, Interstate 70 continues toward downtown, where it joins the city’s larger network of interstate highways. This drive captures the transition from Indiana’s western gateway and the open countryside of the Wabash Valley to the transportation, logistics, and urban landscape of the state capital.

This drive along U.S. Route 49 covers the stretch between Brinkley and Helena/West-Helena, passing through rich farmland, small communities, and the historic Arkansas Delta region. The journey begins at the interchange with Interstate 40 in Brinkley, where the highway heads south through town as Main Street. Along the way, it intersects U.S. Route 70 before turning southwest to exit the city limits. From there, the road makes its way toward the farming community of Marvell, with long straightaways bordered by fields and the occasional tree line marking waterways or rural homesteads.
South of Brinkley, U.S. 49 intersects U.S. 79 and later passes through Blackton before bending west near the junction with Arkansas Highway 86. The highway continues into Marvell, where it briefly merges with Arkansas Highway 1. This part of the route is notable for its connection to the Great River Road, a scenic byway that traces the Mississippi River. Leaving Marvell, the road continues through Walnut Corner, where travelers can branch north on AR-1 or south on AR-85. The final leg carries the highway into West Helena, approaching the historic river town of Helena on the Mississippi. Here, the segment concludes at the junction with the U.S. 49 Business Loop, where traffic can continue toward downtown Helena and the Mississippi River bridge into Mississippi.
This corridor not only serves as an important connector between I-40 and the Mississippi River but also offers a glimpse into the character of the Arkansas Delta. With its mix of history, agriculture, and river culture, the Brinkley-to-Helena stretch of U.S. 49 provides both a functional travel route and a scenic passage through one of the state’s most storied landscapes.

The segment of US-278 from Tupelo to Oxford begins at the interchange with the Natchez Trace Parkway, just southwest of Tupelo. Initially traveling west as a 4-lane divided highway, the highway turns northwest to pass Trace State Park and enter Pontotoc, where it intersects MS-15 and MS-9 at full interchanges.
Continuing northwest, Route 278 crosses MS-336 before passing the south side of Thaxton and other small towns along its northwest trek towards Oxford. At Oxford, the highway bends southwest at the intersection with MS-6 to become a by-pass around the south-side of town.
During this segment, the highway intersects several local roads at full interchanges, as well as a somewhat large interchange with Mississippi Highway 7.
Leaving Oxford, U.S. Route 278 continues west to the intersection with Mississippi Highway 113 (unsigned) where the segment of US-278 from Tupelo to Oxford ends.

🚙 Drive America’s Highways for about 187 miles east along Interstate 40 from I-65 (Exit 208) in Nashville to I-640 (Exit 393) in Knoxville, Tennessee — a fast run of hills, wide valleys, and long rock cuts across the Cumberland Plateau.
Interstate 40 carries eastbound traffic out of northwest Nashville with a brief urban pulse before easing into the green edges of Middle Tennessee. The video starts on the downtown loop at I-65 and quickly settles into steady interstate rhythm—multiple lanes, broad shoulders, and frequent guide signs that keep the flow predictable through the city. As the climb away from the river plain begins, the highway transitions to rolling grades typical of the Highland Rim, with long, gentle curves that open and close the view. Expect a mix of commuter and through-traffic here; merge areas are generous but busy. Once past the outer suburbs, the road stretches out and the scenery takes over: hardwood and pine on either side, sporadic utility corridors, and occasional glimpses across low ridges that hint at the plateau ahead. Pavement is generally smooth, with periodic joints and patches where winter has had its say, and the posted limits support an efficient cruise when conditions are clear.
Farther east, I-40 climbs onto the Cumberland Plateau, where the character shifts to longer pulls, truck lanes on the steeper grades, and the kind of rock cuts that showcase Tennessee’s layered geology. The median widens in places, and crosswinds can rise on the higher, more exposed segments, especially near broad reservoir valleys and watershed crossings. The plateau gradually gives way to the Tennessee Valley with wider horizons, marshy bottoms in the low spots, and the approach to Knoxville marked by denser interchanges and a return to a metropolitan cadence. Lane drops and add-lanes are well signed, and the route finishes on the east side of the city at the I-640 junction—an easy point to continue around Knoxville or carry on toward the mountains. Overall, this is one of Tennessee’s signature cross-state drives: efficient, well-engineered, and quietly scenic, trading between forested shoulders, broad sky, and the steady hum of an interstate designed for long miles.
