On 3 August 2026 the Pentagon signed agreements with Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman to triple Patriot interceptor production and quadruple THAAD — from 96 THAAD interceptors a year to 400, on a seven-year $58 billion Army contract, with capacity nearly tripled at Allegany Ballistics Laboratory in West Virginia and a new Munitions Acceleration Center breaking ground in Camden, Arkansas. One day later, CNN reported that nearly 80% of THAAD inventory and roughly half of Patriot stocks have been expended. We break down where that number actually comes from, why the real figures are classified, and why three outlets published three irreconcilable estimates in a single week. Plus the architecture all of it feeds: the Integrated Battle Command System, the F-35's AN/APG-81 acting as an airborne sensor node, the AN/TPY-2, SPY-6 and Naval Integrated Fire Control-Counter Air, and why the F-22 is not the star of this particular story. Round Up: Russia's record 8,300 guided aerial bombs in July and the overnight Iskander strike on Kyiv's logistics layer.
