when I was playing Pokemon Ruby and Pokemon Sapphire as a kid, it always felt like the gyms were sacred places. Everybody's studying the specific type of the facility, and you go up against this themed gauntlet instead of just a single boss. For this reason, the odd trainer that was off theme always stood out to me, and this remained the case in Diamond and Pearl too, it was fun to imagine a kid's story who's using gulpin in an electric gym. There's a subtle depth added that feels really cool. cooler than mudkip even. this one's a droomish classic for all the meditite, rapidash, and kecleon fans out there.
