Unitree Robotics has revealed an incredible preview of its new experimental “Superman” robot, capable of reaching a claimed 12.66 meters per second and performing a standing high jump of 2 meters.
That translates to roughly 45.6 kilometers per hour or 28.3 miles per hour, showing just how quickly humanoid robot mobility is advancing.
The new Unitree robot is an early development machine focused heavily on extreme locomotion. With a leg length of approximately 0.85 meters, the prototype demonstrates impressive running, jumping, balance, and dynamic movement capabilities.
What makes the project even more interesting is its development timeline. According to Unitree, the machine has only been in development for a little over 3 months, suggesting there is still considerable room for improvement.
The prototype currently has an exposed mechanical design rather than the finished appearance of a commercial humanoid robot. This allows the focus to remain on its actuators, control systems, balance, power, and overall mobility.
Could robots eventually become faster, stronger, and more agile than humans in almost every physical category? Let us know what you think in the comments. Like the video, subscribe, and turn on notifications for more robotics, artificial intelligence, technology, and automotive videos.
