"Under the Moon of Love" was recorded and co-written by Curtis Lee and produced by Phil Spectre in 1961. The song reached the 46th spot on the U.S.Billboard Hot 100 singles chart compared to his "Pretty Little Angel Eyes" that reached the #7 spot. Never the less, "Under The Moon..." used less of a doo-wop style and incorporated a thick sax sound with a bouncy party atmosphere. Though Lee began his recording career in 1959, it came to an end shortly after this song. He later went into the construction industry with his father in 1969 and became a very successful home-builder in his hometown Yuma, Arizona.
