In Episode 2 of this video series, UDoit Fabricates an Evolution miter saw station with storage for RIDGID Small Parts Organizers. With the top and bottom frames welded, it's time to put them together with the uprights. The uprights were cut to 22 inches long using the very miter saw that it is intended.
I made a significant error with the top, which you see leaning against the wall. This top was warped too much. So I bought new steel and redid the top frame. The difference is that I took my time with tack welds and final welds. The amount of warpage was not bad on my third attempt.

The build requirements I set was I had to use my Evolution Miter Saw and it needs to be welded together. My goal is to get better at welding and the only way at the moment is to get my practice time in. I designed the miter saw station in Fusion 360 using 2-inch steel tubing with 0.12-inch wall thickness and 2-inch angle iron. And Joseph Fazzio's, Inc. is 20 minutes from my house, making it easy to get metal.
