And you’d know there’s a new study showing that methane is NOT a climate monster. In “Livestock, Methane and Climate” Alexander et al explain that. Their findings? Methane emissions by livestock have a negligible effect on Earth’s temperature. Yet, the Canadian government claims that methane emissions are a planet killing gas. There are new stringent methane regulations on gas producers that industry says will cost more than $15 BILLION… those costs are passed on to you. Canadian Gas Alliance says: "Natural gas heats millions of homes in Canada and is the workhorse behind industrial processes and important product streams. While Environment and Climate Change Canada estimates compliance costs at $48/tonne, the Canadian Gas Association member field testing and real-world data indicate an average cost of $3,000/tonne." Canada’s GHG emissions represent only 1.5% of global emissions. Net Zero methane emissions targets are all pain for no gain. Canada’s contribution to warming over the past century is a paltry nineteen thousandths of a degree Celsius…. Alberta’s contribution? Six thousandths of a degree.
