The most complicated engineering in the turntable project, the wheels that ride on the ring rail and set the level of the bridge.
This has been a difficult bit of design. On a prototype turntable the wheels =at the end of the bridge support all the weight of the locomotives and have the motors that drive the turntable bridge.
On our model the drive is on a shaft in the center of the bridge and most of the weight is supported in the center. AND, Ive never been sure that would work, especially with the heavy brass locomotives.
So its not just a project, it's test of a concept...
