In this video, I’m turning a wood and resin bowl I’ve named “The Joker Bowl.” The mix of purple and green colours really reminded me of the Joker from Batman, so the name felt right.
I turned this bowl on my Record Power Coronet Herald lathe, using negative rake carbide tools from Easy Wood Tools. It’s a simple, steady turning process, focusing on shape, clean cuts, and letting the materials do their thing.
For the finish, I used Yorkshire Grit Original, followed by Yorkshire Grit Microfine, to bring out the depth of colour and leave a smooth, subtle shine.
