Intentional Camera Movement is perhaps considered a love it or hate it technique and in this video I give it a try when I feel like I can't find a more traditional composition in a local woodland.
Trying something different is a great way to get out with the camera for fun, removing any added stress or expectations of coming home with a great image. ICM is a technique that doesn't have too many rules to stick to so you can be as creative with it as you like, and you never know, you may come back with some unexpected keepers!
I have to say, that generally speaking I don't think ICM is really for me, but I do find it intriguing and interesting enough to keep giving it a try. On this trip I do come away with some images that I was almost surprised about how pleased I was with how they came out, and it was at a time when I would have otherwise gone home after a trip to the woods that didn't yield anything else.
