Golden hour really is one of the best times to shoot. The quality of light can make almost any subject look superb, and it’s a great time of day to go out and get yourself out of a photography rut.
For me if I don’t regularly go out taking photographs it takes me longer to get into a creative flow, and by that I mean that I find it hard to spot possible subjects, and have ideas about what kind of image I want to capture. So I can get frustrated with the results of my trips out and it then risks becoming a downward spiral. When it’s like this it can sometimes feel like you’re back at square one, and that has happened with me this winter, with a string of sicknesses and bad weather I just haven’t been out as much as I would have liked to and I’ve been lacking in motivation and creativity. So I decided to just go out into the Chilterns, an area I grew up in, to enjoy the views and hopefully capture a few images during golden hour that will get me back on track.
