This film is about how feelings can influence the images that you take.
The videos that I post that have a more personal theme tend to get a lot less views on YouTube. And I know that most of the time people use YouTube for tips, advice, and entertainment, so no wonder. However, I feel the need to share my story in more detail sometimes, and I truly believe that we don't talk about these things often enough, and by not talking about it we risk having these feelings impact us in a negative way, when they can be used to form a positive outcome.
On a day where I was feeling tired I found that the photographs I was inspired to capture reflected how I had felt and how my life was impacted by my mother's sickness and death.
I still often think about how it all affected me emotionally and recently I have realised that just by acknowledging those feelings it can add meaning or significance to the images that I capture.
Since my mother passed away, and I have been on the road to recovering from it, I have found that hearing other's experiences have been helpful in understanding why I have felt like I have, and by exploring this through my photography and the videos I post here it has also helped me figure out the why behind what I am doing and what is driving me.
Everyone has their own story about why they do what they do, why they take photographs, why they escape to the outdoors, and I am interested in finding out these stories of motivation are.
