Recently, I have noticed that there are all sorts of things that feel as though they have been holding me back in some way or another, and I have made excuses and developed reasons for why I can't... So this video is really a bit of a pep-talk for myself; an introspective to show myself why I can.
Whatever the challenge is I think it is quite common for all of us at one time or another to feel like the odds are stacking against us. We can confound all the signs we interpret in this way by sabotaging ourselves in what we say also. Negative bias about our own abilities are one of the biggest things that stop people from going out and doing something, and hearing yourself say things like: "It's just that I'm not ready...", "I don't understand it...", "Other's are better than me..." "...so why should I bother..?"
I was spurred on to thinking about this after I saw a comment on Instagram that used a term that I was not familiar with, and I caught myself subconsciously thinking that because I didn't know what it meant that I was somehow under qualified to even be dreaming of becoming a professional photographer.
Self doubt and interpreting actions and incidents as solid walls rather than small hurdles are never ever going to help us realise our dreams, and it's sometimes not until you look at yourself from the outside that you can see the reasons why those hurdles aren't stopping you, but enabling you.
