This was first track I wrote specifically for Evi2 and the first I worked on for the album, pretty much everything except the guitars was in place before evi2 itself even released! I tried recording the choir part myself, and ended up with 48 tracks singing I think 6 parts, but it didn't sound as good as I hoped and was really bad for performance so I ended up throwing it out and putting a VST choir in, but later on I didn't want all those recordings to go to waste so I added the combined stem back in behind the VST choir during the solo, which I think works well, subtle as it is.
I don't have an acoustic guitar anymore so instead I mixed a VST acoustic with my recordings on the electric, I think this track always had a bit of a western vibe which I think is more pronounced with this guitar tone.
The guitar solo was one of my favourites to play too, I'm very happy that I'm not forced by skill issue to only play slow solos anymore, but it's nice to have one like this every now and then where every note is felt
