When KULT News visited Kansas City, MO earlier this year (2026) we encountered a security guard who was beyond foul. He also falsely claimed to police that we spit on him!
Would the Kansas City Police believe him and make an arrest or would they see through his lies?

Laws may vary but, generally speaking, in the United States, if you are in public you are legally able to photograph whatever you can see. Simply put, your eyes can’t be trespassed. Obviously there are some restrictions on this (i.e., bathrooms, dressing rooms, most courtrooms, locker rooms, etc.) but very few when you are in public. If you can see it, you can shoot it (this rule only applies to cameras.) This is not legal advice.
