Translunar Transmissions, the next in the Translunar series of Space Ambient music inspired by the Apollo missions. Featuring actual radio transmissions that I restored, played over an ambient bed. This is the 5 minute radio length edit.
In this piece the crew of Apollo 11 have left Earth orbit and have started on their 76 hour journey to the Moon.
Process Notes:
I cleaned up the raw audio from the NASA archives using RX10, and then smoothed it out with a wash of delays and reverb. I then laid it over the top of a generative ambient pattern I created using classic 80s synths. I also used PaulXStretch for the second time in this track, I changed the angelic choir out of Augmented Voices into a rich vocal drone.
No Grid work this time either - but I used a lot of automation within Bitwig to vary the track and change the arpeggiated sequence running throughout the track.
