Totally Vanilla Gaming proudly presents Transcontinental, the story of my epic flight from Gunners' Overpass to the Edge of the World (northwest of Nuka World station).
The technique I used to fly was pioneered by my fellow YouTuber, @HellraisersFallout4Shelter, and it requires only a vehicle and a pipe pistol, no mods needed! It's dangerous, as you'll see- but very satisfying none the less!
I use a Corvega Blitz, but you can use any vehicle with an open back windshield and an intact roof. I haven't tested every single vehicle, but it's looking like very few work with this method, only the Blitz and the Pick'R Up are confirmed as flyable so far.
How to Do It:
This technique needs only a vehicle (with an open back windshield) and a pipe pistol, no mods required! How you hold and position the pistol is CRUCIAL to a safe and happy flight. It must be placed upside-down, facing forwards, with the handle "hooking" the back of the car roof, and centered over the gap between the back seats. You must drop it on THE GROUND from your inventory, and pick it up while crouched, stand up, jump on the back of the Blitz, and crouch down again.
Then insert the pistol carefully under the roof, and lift up slowly. Voila! Start walking and lifting and you will be flying in no time. Go slow and be careful. If the car starts jerking, pull back on your "throttle" and wait until the car calms down.
NOTE: some of the cars have a back windshield that LOOKS open, but the hole is an illusion. You CANNOT fly these. I have tested both the Atomic V8 & the Cherry Bomb, and the prognosis is no.
