Here's a technique to see through the crack between a door and the adjacent wall. While the door is opening or closing, you may be able to see through the crack, depending on your position and the angle you're facing. Looking partially down helps. I haven't been able to shoot an enemy through a crack.
This trick works on a number of doors in the level, but it seems to be most useful for looking into the second room of the fifth car. You can check two possible positions of the randomly placed guards so that you don't have to run in blind. The guard near the middle of the left wall is easily visible, but the guard near the left corner is harder to see. Crouching can help you get a better view of him. The easiest parts of a guard to see are his face and hands, since his skin is a very different color from anything else in the room.
