This is my first sub-2:35 100% run. I decided to upload it because I haven't uploaded a run in a while. The first half of the run was solid, and while there were some mistakes after that, there were no major disasters. However, I didn't use the door clip in Sanctuary of Water and Ice. It's a trick I've always had a hard time with, but it saves over a minute if it's done perfectly. I'm going to try to get better at it and hopefully incorporate it into future runs. I still want to at least get sub-2:34 and hopefully get a low 2:33. Sub-2:33 is possible, but it seems really hard with current strategies.

Below are some brief level-by-level comments:

Escape: Good. I got the autojump at the beginning.

Woods of Light: I didn't quite manage to skip the Murfy text, but the rest of the level was good.

Fairy Glade: The respawn cancel trick (seen at 9:11) is useful here; it lets me reach the moving platform one cycle earlier than I normally could. Aside from a stubborn lum that cost me a few seconds, this level was good.

Marshes of Awakening: I call the maneuver at 21:16 the "rock jump". It's one of the easiest places to fail a run, but it went well here.

Walk of Life: Good.

Bayou: I had a little trouble with the barrels, but the level was good overall.

Sanctuary of Water and Ice: This level is where I can clip past the door and save over a minute. Hopefully I'll be able to get a good run with that trick. Aside from that, the level went well.

Menhir Hills 1: I started my barrel flying in a weird way, which cost me about 8 seconds. At least I didn't fall in the pit.

Cave of Bad Dreams: Some new tricks help save time in this level. I got to the skull platform at 45:55 on the first cycle by standing still at 45:35. Also, Unreal's fast recovery trick makes the boss fight easier. The only place I really lost any time was when I had trouble killing the worms.

Menhir Hills 2: The purple lum room can give me trouble, but it was textbook here.

Canopy: Great.

Whale Bay: I came REALLY close to drowning, which would have killed the run. Here's a screenshot of my air meter:

The camera gave me some trouble in the last room, costing about 4 seconds. I also missed a lum on the slide. I have a method that allows me to recover from that mistake with no time loss (since you have some time to kill while waiting for the Teensy), but Rayman decided he would rather run down the slope than slide, so I lost a few seconds.

Sanctuary of Stone and Fire: I lost a little time in the miniboss fight and while throwing the blue orb. Pretty much everything else was good, especially the out-of-bounds trick with the plum.

Echoing Caves: The door clip was excellent. Everything else was also pretty good.

Precipice: This level is where the run started to go downhill a little. I lost two golden fists, costing me time here and in the next level.

Top of the World: One of the ugliest levels in the run. I took a hit from the first barrel pirate, which almost never happens. Not only did the hit itself cost a few seconds, but it cost me my last golden fist. This prevented me from using my new strategy later in the level, costing an additional 4 seconds. To make matters worse, I couldn't quite remember how the old strategy went, so I ran around like a fool for a few seconds trying to figure out what to do.

Sanctuary of Rock and Lava: After humiliating me in Top of the World, the game still wasn't finished, so it dealt me one of the most BS deaths possible: touching lava through the floor. After that, I had another death, though admittedly that one was mostly my fault. Overall, the level was pretty bad. Thankfully, those were the only deaths in the run.

Beneath the Sanctuary of Rock and Lava: Some lums in a cage just didn't want to cooperate here. Other than that, the level was good.

Walk of Power: Good.

Tomb of the Ancients: Great. There are lots of places I can lose time here, but everything went well.

Iron Mountains: In the box tower room, I didn't press A in time and I fell off the top of the tower, costing about 15 seconds. Everything else went well, including the troublesome walking shell section. I've probably spent more time on that section than on any other part of the run.

Prison Ship: Jumping up the railing could have been faster, but it wasn't terrible. At the end of the sliding section, there's a circle of lums around a pit with a loading zone. I call this part of the level the "ring of death". It's easy to fall into the loading zone without getting all the lums, and if you do, you have to repeat the entire level. This is an instant run killer. I had to do two laps around the ring in this run, but that's not bad. Everything else went well.

Crow's Nest: I've been experimenting with ways to make Razorbeard's first form shoot faster. My method worked this time, but it's not very consistent. The second form was good.

Hopefully I'll get sub-2:34 soon. Stay tuned.
