50 years ago in 1969 CBC Vancouver presented a new summer afternoon series starring newcomers Mike Neun & Brian Bressler in “Town ‘n Country” and in this edition the guests were popular Vancouver singers Ann Mortifee and Howie Vickers (of the rock group The Collectors) with special guest Buddy Knox who sang This Time Tomorrow, Will the Circle Be Unbroken, and his two international hits, Hula Love and Party Doll. Other great songs include For Bobbie (John Denver song) and Don’t Think Twice It’s Alright sung by Ann, Colours (Donovan song) and Cycles (Frank Sinatra song) sung by Howie, closing with a Gordon Lightfoot medley of Early Morning Rain, Ribbon of Darkness, Bitter Green, That’s What You Get For Loving Me.
