Tormach Inc. | Tormach Takes an 1100M+ to SOLIDWORKS World 2019 @tormachinc | Uploaded February 2019 | Updated October 2024, 2 hours ago.
Tormach was invited to join the SOLIDWORKS World shop floor in Dallas, Texas, to create parts for a serpentine drive belt on a small block engine. It was another exciting show as 6,000 came through to learn all about SOLIDWORKS and many of them stopped by to visit us.
Michael Buchli, Senior Product Portfolio Manager with SOLIDWORKS, walks us through the design through manufacturing process, where an engine block was scanned with a Creaform scanner, and then the parts where designed to fit that engine. It was a collaborative effort as parts were not only made on the Tormach 1100M+ and the 15L Slant-Pro Lathe, but also a fifth axis machine, industrial 3D printers and all the parts were checked for accuracy on some high-end equipment. All of the machines were tied into SOLIDWORKS IQMS system to manage the workflow of parts. Thanks again to Mitee-bites for providing the workholding to make all our parts!
During the SOLIDWORKS World 2019, Chris got interviewed by SOLIDWORKS Live and Bernard Charlès, CEO of Dassault Systèmes, stopped by the shop floor and was given a tour by Michael and Jason.
For those not aware of SOLIDWORKS World, it is a show for those who want to make a difference! A makers, doers and innovators dream show for bringing life to your ideas and inspire you to move forward in creating. There's no wonder it is one of the top innovative shows out there with over 250 sessions and over 100 different partners that are going to showcase their technology and tools.
