Like many German sedans, however, the Audi and the BMW feel cold inside compared to the G70, which has softer lines and warmer colors. It's also worth noting that none of the G70's competitors can match it for value, as it combines a low base price with an extensive list of standard features. As the lowest-priced sedan in the Genesis lineup, the G70 is the brand's entry-level vehicle, but it's far from basic transportation. It features a luxurious cabin with a modern design and materials that give it the look of a much more expensive sedan. Its resume is further enhanced by a long list of standard features, such as front and rear heated seats, a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, a heated steering wheel, and numerous electronic safety systems. The G70 doesn't skimp on performance either, as it comes standard with a 300-horsepower turbocharged, four-cylinder engine coupled to an eight-speed transmission and rear-wheel drive. If that's not enough, there's an optional twin-turbo V6 that boasts 365 hp. Stepping up to the more powerful model adds variable-ratio steering, 19-inch sport wheels, and enhanced drive modes.

The Audi S8 provides the comfort of an ultra-luxury sedan but with significantly more horsepower and race-inspired components, making it very fun to drive. All that power does impact fuel economy, but as a discreet performance sedan, the S8 is hard to match.

The Mazda3 is the sportiest choice, though its performance results in some sacrifices. The 2024 VW Jetta is the outlier, with mature styling and more space for rear passengers, but it's otherwise just about average for the class. The Jetta fits between the smaller Golf GTI hatchback and the larger Arteon sedan. This seventh-generation model was last redesigned in 2019 and it received a significant refresh in 2022.
