For this tip Tuesday we wanted to show you how to do needle turn appliqué! Using the back basting method makes this technique extremely simple, & requires no pins. If you want to see an in depth tutorial on this method be sure to visit our YouTube channel to watch the full video 🎬️

✨️Thread Used✨️

For the basting we used Spagetti, our 12wt cotton thread. This thick thread is perfect for easy stitching, & removal. As well as leaving larger holes in your outline that are easy to follow!

Efina, our 60wt cotton thread, is a great choice for any appliqué method. This lightweight thread blends into the edges of your appliqué for a neat finish. And it comes in a wide variety of colours, to make colour matching easier. Cotton thread can also be a bit easier to use when doing turned edge appliqué, as the textured surface of the thread helps to pull in the edges of your fabric!
