Learn how to make a hand-embroidered fabric label for quilts, bags, and handmade gifts — no freehand drawing skills required. This tutorial uses a water-soluble stabilizer to transfer your design directly to fabric so you can stitch right over it, then rinse it away when you're done.
Stephanie walks through the full process from printing and cutting the design, to choosing the right thread weight for lettering vs. decorative stitching, to finishing the label with a neat folded edge and running stitch border. Rinse Away Design Sheet (water-soluble, printable stabilizer)
Eleganza™ Perle Cotton — #8 weight, colours 318 and 734
Spagetti™ — 12wt perle cotton (for lettering detail)
Konfetti™ — 50wt cotton (for appliquéing the label)
Stitch Enhancer™ — optional, good for stabilizing thinner fabrics
