Whether you grew up watching them or are just a fan of them, the 80s produced some of the most beloved cartoons on TV. Many of the all-time favorites like Masters of the Universe, TMNT and in this case, ThunderCats, have a huge following to this day. Creators are now looking to the past to try and revamp old favorites into new ones. Although we’re always excited to see what they come up with, we can’t help but compare them to the originals that started it all.
In 2020, ThunderCats Roar aired for one season on The Cartoon Network as a reboot to the 1985 show, ThunderCats. The original show ran from 1985 to 1989, setting a tough-to-beat standard for fans of action-packed animation when it comes to the fantasy genre. In the reboot, we see the familiar story of the crew of feline humanoids crash landing on Third Earth after evacuating their previous home planet of Thundera. Along the way, the gang use their powers and timeless gadgets to fight-off foes and help protect their new home. Even though some things remain from the original, quite a bit has changed in this modern version.
