One of the benefits of being in the 21st century is in the majority of cases, no matter where you live in the world, you know you’ll be able to enjoy and have access to amazing animated movies like Zootopia and Encanto. Having that dependability, whether it be in Disney movies, Pixar movies, or even films from Dreamworks—we’re looking at you Shrek—we’re able to take our knowledge of these films worldwide. But what is scripted and what is not in each of these awesome films? We’ve discovered that there have been animated movies that premiered with significant differences from script to final product.
Animation is a well-planned, meticulous process…most of the time. But did you know about all the times some improvisation made it into your favorite animated films?
If you think about it, it makes perfect sense for creators to alter their films in order to represent the image or idea that they were going for by borrowing the talent of their actors. Especially when it comes to comedy, iprov is the answer to making some organic and fun moments really pop. You’ll see what king of improv they had in Shrek for this exact reason.
