In this build series, I am working with Cliff Hall, a toolmaker from New Zealand. Cliff has invented a thread milling attachment for a knee mill that allows for cutting both internal and external threads of both metric and imperial pitches. It can be mounted on the rear edge of the XY table of a Bridgeport style mill and it is entirely manually operated. In this first episode:
* CNC milling the profile of the small transfer plate.
* How to use TouchDRO for setting up multiple drill point locations.
* Second op's on the transfer plate.
* Slotting the transfer adjustment plate using TouchDRO.
* Making the stainless steel keys for guiding the transfer adjustment plate.
* Assembly of the new parts.
