In this build series, I am working with Cliff Hall, a toolmaker from New Zealand. Cliff has invented a thread milling attachment for a knee mill that allows for cutting both internal and external threads of both metric and imperial pitches. It can be mounted on the rear edge of the XY table of a Bridgeport style mill and it is entirely manually operated. In this first episode:
*How I got involved in the collaboration project.
*An overview of materials, tools and parts required for the build.
*Casting some of the parts (although these could be machined from stock billet)
* Where the project is going next.
