One of the reasons why I’m so fascinated by no input mixing & feedback-patching is the element of surprise: you can press a button or turn a knob that’s *supposed* to do one thing, and get a completely unexpected result…
Moments later you can perform that exact same action and end up somewhere entirely different.
I’m always reminded of the way electronic music pioneer David Tudor would talk about his relationship to electronic instruments, as objects that can reveal to us what they want to hear, rather than us always telling them what to do.
It’s an approach I find super inspiring.
In this video I'm using a super simple feedback patch on the mixer, and I'm running the output into the @chasebliss LOSSY pedal.
When I started putting this patch together I had NO idea where it would lead or what the results would be... turns out it’s just as weird, chirpy, chaotic, skronky, + surprising as I was hoping 😂❤️
