Whilst Sinead O' Connor refers to this as simply a love song. It is in fact about the conflicts between Northern Ireland and England. Like much that this Irish protest singer song writer has done over the years, the song caused a lot of controversy and was almost banned at the time. I recorded this interpretation back in 2017 .
