Held midway between the Winter and Spring Equinox, St Brigid's Day has
been celebrated by the Irish for centuries, and is also known in pagan tradition as Imbolc, with celebrations for the pagan goddess Brigid .Her image is often holding what is known as the flame of rebirth, which is what she represents in nature.
