I found this one from 10 years ago in my files today.One of my first originals. It's crackly and raw, but I think the vintage sound works with the Blues, jazz style of the song, so I decided to upload it rather than record again..
Just a fun one, remembering those feelings in our teens when we first fall in love...:).
Sleepless
Sunrise to sunset, dusk til dawn
Monday evening, to Sunday morn
I'm sleepless, just thinking of you.
Get up real early and I go to bed late
Toss and turn, but time won't wait when your sleepless
Just thinking it through
There are a whole lot of things I could do
There are a whole lot of boys I could choose
But, I prefer to spend my time feeling tired over you
Dark circles under my eyes
Don't want no food to my Mama's surprise
Caus i'm sleepless, getting no winks caus of you
One to a hundred and A to Z ain't rocket science
But my eyes won't close to sleep
I'm restless, just thinking of you
There are a whole lot of parties I'm invited to, there are a whole lot of guys better looking than you
But i prefer to spend my time feeling tired over you
Heaven help me know, I'm
losing my head
Counting sheep all alone in my bed
I'm sleepless, stir crazy over you
Man in the moon says to shut my eyes
Forget about you, wave bye bye
But i'm restless just thinking it through
I got a whole lot of places i should be, a whole lot of fella's looking out for me
