Welcome to the first episode of the Michigan and Ohio series! Today we’re in Lincoln Park, Michigan, heading to Bread Basket Deli to take on their “Double-D” Giant Corned Beef Sandwich Challenge!

Bread Basket Deli is a family-owned restaurant in the Detroit metro area that’s been serving the community for years with classic deli favorites. Their menu features everything from stacked corned beef and pastrami sandwiches to breakfasts, burgers, soups, and other homemade comfort food. They’re especially known for their corned beef, which is made in-house from start to finish. So if you ever find yourself in the area, it’s definitely worth stopping by for a sandwich!

The “Double D” Challenge features a GIANT sandwich built on a 2-pound loaf of rye bread, with both sides slathered in Thousand Island dressing. It’s stacked with 2 pounds of house-made corned beef, 12 slices of Swiss cheese, and 1 pound of coleslaw. On top of that, you’ll also have to finish a full pound of golden, crispy fries. Finish everything within 45 minutes, and you’ll get the $80 meal free, a T-shirt, and your photo on their Wall of Fame.
