Ever had students forget about a quiz, struggle to focus, or try every excuse to get out of class? Same. That’s why I started using the weirdest teacher hacks — and they actually work.
From magic glasses that help kids focus, to using a Magic 8 Ball for bathroom passes, to standing in the hallway with a protest-style sign reminding kids about vocab quizzes — novelty is the secret weapon.
In this video, I’ll share some of the silly, low-cost tricks I use (tiny hands, remote controls, signs on sticks) to grab students’ attention and break into their rhythm. It’s not about being the “Carrot Top of education” — it’s about creating moments students don’t expect, so they remember, engage, and win.
