The Sears family resided in this house, located at 4032 North Seventh Street, cultivating an 80-acre homestead with orchards of apples, peaches, apricots, pears, figs, and almonds, as well as maintaining a dairy . The home features a parlor, music room, kitchen, and two bedrooms, showcasing the architectural elegance and domestic comforts of the era.
In 1969, facing imminent demolition, the house was donated to the museum. During its restoration, a section of the original wallpaper was discovered beneath the dining room plate-rail, providing a glimpse into the home's historical decor .
