This is a short film I made for my college Moving Camera class. For this project, I had to create a long take using a Steadicam - though with this I used a DJI Ronin Gimbal. The film follows two Vibe Raiders, Duke and Don, as they raid a house to carry out some vibe checks and check some suspicious vibes. "The Vibe Raiders" serves as an adaptation of the vibe check meme.
The film stars Jake Huber, Jordan Winfield, Brian Fennessey and Kyle Carozzi, and Ben Nussbaum and Andrew Smuskiewicz make their acting debuts. Special thanks to Brian and his goons for letting us film in their house, and to Brian's roommate Brett Yoos for helping with the production.
The project is meant to be/appear as one continuous take. We shot five takes - two practice shots and three actual takes - and the second actual take is the one seen in the film. Everything was indeed filmed in a single shot. Would definitely recommend using a Gimbal to film if you get the chance! It's an awesome piece of equipment that isn't as big and clunky as a Steadicam.
We hope you enjoy!
Featuring music by John Carpenter from the Halloween (2018) soundtrack, and "Our Rex Is Bigger Than Yours" by Michael Giacchino. I do not own any of the music featured in this film.
